Does he live up to his promise, or does he stay on topic? Even more unlikely, do we stay on topic?

If you thought this podcast was a good one because it wasn’t perfect, I guess you guys will think you hit gold when you saw that I was offering Into the Dark up for Pap Smear. Hopefully if you do review it, you’ll give me a LOT of advice. I need it!:)

You’re wrong that you can’t dial down Audacity’s noise reduction. You can… I find that I get fairly good results at the minimum setting. Maybe you’re looking at an old and/or Mac version?
I find that Audacity’s noise reduction requires very careful selection to get the right bit of audio to use as the noise sample. It also has to be a very uniform noise, something like a computer fan.

I think some of the things that confuse people about the whole “Are you talk or are you music” are NPR shows like “All Things Considered” and “Morning Edition”. They use music to break up their articles… but I think it’s important to note (and something folks overlook) they don’t use more than thirty seconds or so of music for that purpose… just enough for people to see the connection between the music they’ve chosen and the article that just came before. Often it’s an ironic little joke but there’s almost always a connection.

Right… It takes the right mix of content and information to make a show gel together. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
You always know when it is working, but sometimes it hard to tell when it is just a bit off. (If that makes any sense at all)

Mike and Steve, I thought this was a good one. You taught me to really think if I REALLY want to do a podcast and see if .. heh .. “i have enough time to really do a podcast” .. time … no one really has enough time
You just MAKE the time.
Anyway, I’m really enjoying your shows. They’ve helped me be a better sound tech at church
Oh, don’t worry about being to harsh or too nice. So far you guys have be spot on with all your comments. It would be great if you offered up a few more excerpts from the ‘casts you are reviewing.
Oh and you get my “60 MPH with the Windows Down” stamp of approval
I’m up too late……
